Learning for Life Centres |

New family learning centres will be opening soon in Birmingham for parents who need (ESOL)English language/literacy support to develop their own self confidence and help their children progress in their early years. Courses will be free and are designed to improve the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of pre-entry to Entry 2 students within topics related to family life in the UK.

BCT Training offers a range of innovative courses for parents and carers to enable them to fulfil their role with confidence as first educators of their children - these include transition programmes – (preparing your child for nursery and for primary school). Workshops on an introduction to school education and strategies for positive parenting including learning language together through play are also available.

Training volunteers to support adult learning |

BCT Training promotes the role of the Community Learning Champion and trains volunteers who facilitate adult learning. We focus particularly on providing the skills and knowledge needed to assist those who find learning difficult. Our courses cover barriers to learning, the learning journey, writing schemes of work, designing assessment activities, presentation skills and mentoring learners.
